Sandwich in Bloom is a completely voluntary organisation run by a small committee. Over the year our time is divided between organising the planting and ongoing maintenance of floral displays around the town, raising funds to pay for the displays and entering Regional and National In Bloom competitions to promote the town’s attractiveness to a wider audience.
We need to raise around £10,000 a year to provide the plants, planters and hanging baskets from Archer’s Low Nursery who supply us at cost price.
Keeping the town attractive and tidy is a year round activity.
How you can help …
The easiest task – requiring minimal effort, no need to sign-up as a volunteer beforehand, no long term commitment – is to help any discarded can, bottle or wrapper find its proper final resting place in a suitable waste or recycling bin. On any given day the level of involvement need only be one discarded item per person per trip into town, that’s it!
You can join the fun and help to promote our beautiful town by posting your photos on facebook (use link at the bottom of the page). We welcome photos of your own hidden gems too, your back garden for instance.

If you are lucky enough to live in Sandwich then you could decorate your own home with flowers, adding to the beautiful displays around every corner in town.
You could become a street coordinator to spread the word and get your neighbours on board

Local businesses: Hanging baskets made to order at a special price of £20 each
Sandwich residents: 10% discount on baskets, plants & other supplies on production of a flyer before 1st August
If you can help to keep the plants watered that would be much appreciated, in our current summers this is a task that needs to be done every day, but not all by the same person!
We also need help with painting boxes and putting them up.
